"You ain't with this s--t we with, bars of death, destruction, and violence." -Killer Mike, from "Tougher, Colder Killer"
Entering 2013, we can already spot an uncomfortable theme popping up in the titles and descriptions of forthcoming mixtapes. HipHopDX released a list of tapes that you can expect during early 2014, and one concept is popular: Death. Specifically...yours.
Chief Keef got the ball rolling during late 2013 when describing his Bang 3 mixtape, which will be released March. Although "Bang" doesn't sound incredibly violent based on title alone, the rapper hinted that it will be messy. To be exact, he claimed that the tape would result in the murder rate of his hometown of Chicago going up.
Keef apparently isn't pleased with the murder rate in Chicago dropping during 2013 to its lowest point since 1965. The Chicago police department reported a total of 415 homicides, which was still the highest count in the nation, mind you. Keef won't be the only one from the Windy City pushing for more violence either. Fredo Santana is expected to release his Fredo Krueger mixtape soon. You can argue that the "Krueger" title is just a clever reference to an '80s horror flick, but Santana is also Keef's cousin. So you can guess what that album will center around.
Another big name supporting them order industry is Los Angeles rapper The Game. California's largest city also saw a drop in homicides, but Game's mixtape looks to reflect otherwise with its to-the-point title: Operation Kill Everything.
Keep on moving up guys.
