Megadeth is Crowdfunding New Album: Fans Can Help Make 'Super Collider' Follow-Up

Even metalheads need a little help sometimes. Megadeth is asking its fans to help fund a new album, which will follow up 2013's Super Collider. The band is offering everything from instruments to signed copies of the new album once it's released. Fans can help out by donating at Megadeth's PledgeMusic page.

Here's what they want you to know from the group:

Megadeth has entered the studio to begin recording their 15th album and the band wants to bring you along for the ride. For the first time, Megadeth is going to bring you into the process and give you a window into the world of Dave Mustaine, Kiko Loureiro, David Ellefson and Chris Adler. Pre-order the album digitally, on CD or on vinyl plus tons of other unique offerings like signed CDs, signed vinyl, gear from the studio and much more. No matter what you order, you will get access to a variety of behind-the-scenes content such as photos and videos from the writing and recording sessions. You'll get full access to the process in real time.

Fans who pledge $50 will receive a signed copy of the CD. Further down the list, donors can get a two-hour songwriting lesson with Mustaine for $5,000 or a full Mapex drum set signed by new drummer Chris Adler. Any donation also gets fans exclusive access to updates the band might post (a video featuring Adler's drum work is on display currently).

Just last month, the band named Adler, who previously played with Lamb of God, its full-time percussionist. The band lost drummer Shawn Drover and guitarist Chris Broderick right around the same time last year.

"Due to artistic and musical differences, it is with great reluctance that I announce my departure from Megadeth to pursue my own musical direction," Broderick wrote in a statement. He has since went on to form Act of Defiance.
