Megadeth's Dave Mustaine Asks Fans For Positive Thoughts As He Searches For Missing Mother-In-Law

On Saturday (Oct. 4), the mother-in-law of Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine went missing, and the metal musician took to Twitter today (Oct. 6) to ask fans for positive thoughts.

Blabbermouth reports that Sally Estabrook disappeared over the weekend in Julian, Calif., after her husband returned from a shower and couldn't find her. Estabrook, 75, is the mother of Mustaine's wife, Pam. "Please send good thoughts to Pam, and prayers from those of you who pray, as we search for her mom," Mustaine tweeted. Police in the area released Estabrook's description as 5 feet 4 inches tall weighing about 145 pounds with shoulder-length, blond hair (see below for picture). She was last seen wearing a teal top and white Capri pants.

Anyone who sees Estabrook should call 911 or the sheriff's department at (858) 565-5200.

Mutaine's mother-in-law also suffers from Alzheimer's disease, a diagnosis that fueled some of the songwriting process for 2013's Super Collider.

"Until it happens to you, you really have no idea," he told Loudwire. "And I think that when I saw how upset our family became and yet how we are able to provide the resources for her, it made me think about all the families going through this that don't have the resources to take care of a loved one. It also made me really appreciate our fans, because without them, I would not be able to take care of things the way I am. It really brings it all home. And then beyond that, I just did what any good artist does. I put my emotions into my music."
