Alice Glass Responds To Crystal Castles' Ethan Kath Underhanded Remarks

Last October, news broke that Alice Glass had left the experimental electronic duo, Crystal Castles, leaving many fans to wonder if they were done for good. On Friday, Ethan Kath, the producer and remaining member released a new song under the guise of Crystal Castles on soundcloud titled "Frail" that got fans excited not only because it was new music, but also it confirmed that there was a future for the band. He stirred up controversy with a now deleted comment that undermined the contribution of Glass over her time as a member in Crystal Castles. Not too long after, she responded in a series of tweets validating her position in the duo and using the comment to reinforce why she left.

In Kath's now deleted post, he wished Glass the best in a slightly patronizing way sighting "empowerment" and listed off all of the songs she allegedly not on.

"It should be rewarding for her considering she didn't appear on Crystal Castles' best known songs. (she's not on Untrust Us. Not In Love, Vanished, Crimewave, Vietnam, Magic Spells, Knights, Air War, Leni, Lovers Who Uncover, Violent Youth, Reckless, Year of Silence, Intimate, 1991, Good Time, Violent Dreams etc.). people often gave her credit for my lyrics and that was fine, i didn't care."

At the time when Glass left the band, she made it clear that there were artistic differences and hinted at personal issues as well.

"My art and my self-expression in any form has always been an attempt towards sincerity, honesty, and empathy for others," she said. "For a multitude of reasons both professional and personal I no longer feel that this is possible within CC".

The situation is getting pretty ugly and the more CC gets released, the uglier this may get so stay tuned.
