Tyler, The Creator Curses Out Former Starbucks Boss, Talks New Album 'Cherry Bomb,' Meeting Rihanna, Coachella, Action Bronson Crush, Future Plans & More In Big Boy Interview [WATCH]

Tyler, The Creator dropped his new album Cherry Bomb last week. Yesterday, he stopped in for an interview with Big Boy to talk about the new effort, his rise to success and his vision for the future. He gets into anectodes about meeting Rihanna at his Coachella set, having a man crush on Action Bronson, meeting Denzel Washington at a party, being allergic to dogs, loving vinyl packaging, despising the instant-gratification generation and more. He even cusses out his former boss at Starbucks. Here are some excerpts.

On today's social media obsession:

"That's the thing with everyone, they always want to put everything on freaking Twitter or Instagram. I know that Rihanna thinks I'm cool, I don't have to let the world know every move. I think that's what sucks with our generation. It's instant gratification. People don't even do things because they enjoy it anymore. They just want to put it on the Internet just to feel some type of importance."

On why his fans are so devoted to him:

"It's that leadership quality, I guess. People want something to believe in. It can either be positive or negative, but it's just how you carry yourself. If you carry yourself with those leader qualities like, 'I don't need to listen to anyone; I'm going to do this. I believe in it.' That's how a lot of the greats are. They're themselves no matter what. Some people need that. Some people, they're not born with that confidence. So if they are a fan of someone's music, and they instill a quality of maybe it's confidence or rebellion or positivity or something, they're going to hold that person and listen to what that person says based on the way it makes them feel."

On what drives him to work hard and never stop:

"I will never make a song like Stevie Wonder's "Where Were You When I Need You" so I always use that as like, 'God dang! I have to make something good like that.' And that's what pushes me. And the fact that in my own head I think will never make something as good as the songs that I love, I will always push myself. I will always push myself harder and whether people like it or not, at least for me, I'm trying things and trying to be better."
