Rapper, artist and social activist, Killer Mike of hip-hop duo Run The Jewels, was among those attending the White House Correspondent's Dinner last night at the Washington Hilton Hotel. The event where the capitol's elite and press come together to poke fun at each other and drink heavily was headlined by President Obama and his anger translator Luther (Keegan-Michael Key from Key & Peele) and Cecily Strong of Saturday Night Live fame.
Killer Mike was invited by Arianna Huffington to tag along with her to represent the website at the dinner. He stood out as one of the few musicians in the room. Mike has been vocal recently in his pursuit of equality and combating police brutality in the United States. He has written op-eds for Billboard, USA Today and Okay Player, while making appearances on CNN for interviews.
The rapper documented his time during the dinner on Twitter, including pictures of him looking very fly in a black tux and even meeting a few RTJ fans in the process.
