50 Cent Explains Why He Fights With Floyd Mayweather Ahead Of Manny Pacquiao Bout

With the biggest fight in a generation under a week away, Mayweather Pacquiao "Fight Of The Century" hype is at fever pitch. Anyone with any connection to either two fighters are being interviewed, probed and prodded about the two champion boxers. Rapper 50 Cent has a long history with Floyd Mayweather including a beef that has been on and off for some time now. Most notably, the "Candy Shop" rapper had a brief online quarrel with Mayweather around the time of the ALS ice bucket challenge last year. He challenged Mayweather to read a page of Harry Potter and he would give $750,000 to charity. It was revealed by Charlemagne Da God on Power 105.1, a New York City hip-hop station, a that the boxer is nearly illiterate and the story took on a sad turn.

Fast forward to this past week, 50 Cent and Mayweather publicly buried the hatchet on their beef that initially started for business reasons. We are given some level of clarity in a new interview where 50 explains why he fights with the incredibly rich boxer.

"My younger brother happens to be the best fighter in the world," 50 told MTV. "He can make $200 million in 36 minutes. How do you tell him what to do? You don't. Sometimes, he's not right. You'll tell him, 'You're not right.' And then, you have that argument until he starts to look at it and say, 'He was right.'"

He goes on further to say that because of all of that money, people around Mayweather are afraid to bite the hand that feeds them and become yes men to whatever the boxer says. Floyd gets used to this type of behavior, with everyone telling him that he is the best, so when someone like 50 comes in to speak truth to power, it upsets the boxer.
