The 56th Annual Grammy Awards tonight (Jan. 16) will surely be the biggest night of many musicians' lives, as they receive the most prestigious award in the industry. However, artists such as Lorde and Jay Z won't be the only ones with a big day. According to The New York Times' ArtBeat, 34 couples will also have a momentous occasion tonight... a marriage.
Yes, 68 people will be getting married tonight at the Grammys. During Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' song "Same Love." To help celebrate the track's marriage equality message, couples of all races, ages, sexualities and religions will be tying the knot as Macklemore, Ryan Lewis and Mary Lambert sing the track.
But that's not all to the "Same Love" performance, Macklemore and co. will also be joined by one of music's biggest names (and equality supporters): Madonna. Madge was confirmed as a Grammy performer earlier this week and it's now know that she will storm that stage for "Same Love."
Oh, and the wedding officiant? None other than Queen Latifah.
It is the Grammys, after all.
Not only will "Same Love" be performed at the Grammys tonight, the forward moving song is also nominated for Song Of The Year. Additionally, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are up for six other awards tonight.
