It's a good month to be the Arctic Monkeys. After finally(!) topping the Billboard Alternative Songs Chart after eight years in the game and preparing for a sold-out US tour, the English rockers stormed the stage of The Late Show with David Letterman last night (Jan. 27) with its biggest American hit to date, "Do I Wanna Know?"
With his signature hip swivel and perfectly styles 1950s' greaser coif, Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner nailed "Do I Wanna Know?" as per usual. With some high-registered backup vocals and trippy blue and red backing lights, the Letterman performance was straight rock 'n' roll, something Arctic Monkeys are notoriously good at.
Watch the performance below:
Arctic Monkeys' appearance on Letterman is in support of the band's fifth studio album AM, which was released back in September.
The Letterman performance also preceded Arctic Monkeys' upcoming headlining, sold-out North American tour. The band will start the second leg of the tour on Thursday (Jan. 20) in Miami, Fla, before it heads around the country, eventually wrapping things up on Valentine's Day in Minneapolis, Minn.
And even though the tour is sold out, there's always a chance for some second-hand tickets. Check to see if Arctic Monkeys are coming to your town below:
