Last month, Migos were arrested on multiple gun and drug charges during a show at Georgia Southern University. Two of the three members, Quavo and Takeoff were able to post bail stemming from the April 18 incident, but the third member, Kiari Kendrell Cephus, known by his stage name Offset, has been held in jail without bond. That situation just got a little worse according to local news reports that say additional charges are being filed against Offset for a fight that broke out in prison.
According to police, jail surveillance shows an assault by a man on another prisoner. The victim identified Offset as his attacker, who left the man with a "visible injury to the right side of his head." In addition to his charges in April, he will have battery and causing a riot in a penal institution added to his list of legal troubles that the rapper will have to fight in court.
Offset is currently in jail without bond after being arrested on April 18 during a Migos concert at Georgia Southern University when police were tipped off about possible illegal activities in their dressing room and found guns and drugs on their persons. In addition to the new legal troubles stemming from the alleged Saturday fight in jail, Cephus is also facing charges including possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, marijuana possession, carrying a weapon in a school safety zone (felony) and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Offset has been convicted of burglary of theft in the past and is currently on probation, which makes it illegal for him to carry any sort of weapon.
Migos had to postpone their Yung Rich Nation Tour wit OG Maco to July as a result of the arrest, but with the new charges they may have to delay even longer.
Their debut album YRN: Tha Album, which is set to feature Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Meek Mill is still on schedule to be released on June 16.
