Robert Marin, owner of LAX Jewelry Co., which services a lot of rappers in the area, is claiming that someone in 50 Cent's crew pistol-whipped him and stole $250,000 in jewelry. This all went down during the big fight weekend for the bout between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Paquiao. According to Marin, he met up with 50, real name Curtis Jackson, at Drai's nightclub on May 1 and showed him the jewelry, which 50 was interested in buying, but they needed to come to an agreement on price.
According to the jeweler, he stayed out at Drai's until very late in the night, when he was invited to go see Mayweather's gym—an offer he could not refuse. Fitty has been a good friend of Mayweather's for quite some time so that was possible. Apparently, when they arrived at the gym things got ugly for Marin, where he says two men in 50's crew pistol-whipped him, took the jewelry and fled.
Marin has filed a police report in Las Vegas and police are investigating according to TMZ.
The rapper's lawyers are denying any involvement in the incident. Jackson's lawyer Scott Leemon spoke on the matter, saying: "On behalf of 50, I can adamantly deny that he or his security had anything to do with these baseless and false allegations."
Forbes just released the top 5 from their list of the richest men in hip-hop and 50 clocked in at number four with more than $150 million in assets. It doesn't entirely add up for someone in his crew who has probably seen a bit of that cash steal something like this.
Plenty of people steal things just for the thrill of it, but that weekend in Las Vegas there was no shortage of thrills the massive fight and parties from sun up to sun up.
