It's been a little over a year since Kesha returned from rehab for an eating disorder, and now she singer is finally embracing a healthy lifestyle. In a new interview with Vogue, the "Timber" singer revealed the inside world of her eating disorder, he decision to check into rehab and how she's shedding away all the glitter and partying for a body positive and happy life.
Kesha admitted that even while she was losing weight in unhealthy ways in unhealthy ways, the criticism got to her and she was shockingly getting positive feedback from people in the industry,
"There was a lot of not eating-and I started to think being hungry to the point of feeling almost faint was a positive thing," she admitted. "The worse it got, the more positive feedback I was getting. Inside I was really unhappy, but outside, people were like, 'Wow, you look great.'"
The singer also admitted that she felt contradictory singing songs like "We R Who We R" while torturing her body.
"I wanted to be genuine. But I was sad and [I wasn't eating]. That's not good for your body, metabolism, or brain," she said, before admitting that she talked to her therapist and mom to check into a rehab center for her eating disorder. "I went to an eating-disorder specific rehab site where a nutritionist taught me that food is a positive thing for your body. I realized being healthy is the most important thing I can do for myself."
Now, Kesha is looking ahead, going for a natural makeup look, pulling out her gold tooth and embracing the chill things in life.
"Part of being healthy is being positive. I don't pay attention to the Internet or bloggers. I surround myself with positive people. I run a few miles on the beach every day, and I got into Transcendental Meditation to try to find some peace in my crazy life," she said. "[It reminds me] to be grateful for where I am, for my body, and my face-as imperfect as any of it may be."
