Last week, Tyga took to Twitter to announce his new single "Hollywood N*ggaz" from The Gold Album. According to his tweet, the song was supposed to drop via Spotify. More recently, he's revealed trouble getting the track released.
Tyga jumped on social media letting everyone know that "Hollywood N*ggaz" would be dropping direct to Spotify on Friday (May 15), but the day came and went with no sign of Tyga's new song.
He got back on Twitter to let the world know that the streaming service is to blame for the hold up.
Tyga's forthcoming album has been delayed several times since the rapper aired out his differences with Cash Money Records and threatened to leak the project last October.
"Gold album been done," he tweeted. "My label holding me hostage so I can't release nothing. Might just leak it for my fans then let them make $ off it."
As previously reported, the album was slated to be released in November 2014. Tyga has released two albums including 2012′s Careless World: Rise of the Last King and 2013′s Hotel California under the YMCMB umbrella.
Tyga cut ties with the label soon thereafter and took the opportunity to diss Drake during an interview with Vibe.
"I don't like Drake as a person," Tyga said. "He's just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I'm saying? I think his music is good, but we're all different people. We were forced together and it was kinda' like we were forcing relationships together ... I think being signed to Young Money, everybody felt like they had to force a relationship 'cause Wayne put us together. At the end of the day the reason why I signed to Young Money is because of Wayne. Not because of Drake, not because of Nicki. It was because of Wayne and my relationship with him. I try to be cool with everybody, but sometimes, everybody just has different personalities, motives, and different characters. When you realize that, you realize that's not a place where you want to continue to grow."
