Summer means good weather and a new festival every weekend. Chicago's Spring Awakening is preparing to open its doors in just more than 24 hours and it has announced something special for those not in town or unable to score tickets. SAMF has partnered with T-Mobile and Twitch to host a festival live stream on the video streaming service. The three days will be aired on Twitch starting at 5 p.m. Central Time, featuring some of the biggest names in electronic music such as Tiësto, Zedd, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Jamie Jones and new addition to the lineup, Jack Ü.
Other names on the lineup that could appear on your computer screens include Tommy Trash, Eric Prydz, Dada Life, Afrojack, Oliver Heldens, Paul van Dyk and Eats Everything spread out over four stages. The live stream will be hosted on Beatport's Twitch channel, which is a partner with the festival. The full schedule mapping out which artists will be streamed will be made available soon.
In addition to the three jam-packed days of high-flying DJs, there is a slew of official afterparties at venues such as The Mid, Concord Music Hall and Primary around the Windy City. Since the three-day festival ends each night at 11 p.m., there is plenty of time to still have an afterparty with the DJs who were on the festival bill. Among those hosting events including Skrillex, Martin Garrix, Tommy Trash (on a yacht!), Eats Everything, Flosstradamus and more.
Spring Awakening Music Festival will take place this weekend June 12-14 at Soldier Field in Chicago. The festival starts at 3 p.m. on Friday and then moves to an earlier start on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.
