Fall Out Bird is the Flappy Bird 'homage' we didn't know we needed [VIDEO]

Did you miss out on downloading the insanely addictive game Flappy Bird before it was suddenly pulled from the market on Sunday (Feb. 9)? Are you a huge Fall Out Boy fan? Well, now you're in luck. Today (Feb. 12), the "Alone Together" band released their own take on the smartphone game, Fall Out Bird.

Teased as an homage to the original Flappy Bird in an announcement on Fall Out Boy's website, the new game features the heads of band members Pete Wentz, Patrick Stump, Andy Hurley and Joe Trohman with little angel wings as they fly through guitar necks, mimicking the tiny bird flying through pipes in the original game.

In an homage to the band's Illinois roots, the Chicago skyline looms in the background.

And like the rest of us, the tapper in the video teaser kind of sucks at Flappy Fall Out Bird.

"Rome wasn't built in a day, but this game was. In the spirit of Fall Out Boy Trail, we bring you #FallOutBird," the band tweeted on Monday, teasing the app's release.

The game officially hit Google Play for Android devices today and is expected to arrive in the iTunes store for iPhone and iPod Tough users any time now, just as soon as it gets approved by Apple.
