In just 18 days, Led Zeppelin managed to craft their entire 1976 studio album, Presence, during their time spent in Munich. Throughout the recording process, the iconic rock and roll band made reference mixes of some tracks--five of which will be featured on the upcoming companion disc to the record's deluxe edition.
A raw version of the guitar-swarmed track, "Hots on for Nowhere," may lack Robert Plant's "Hey Babe!" calls but they are replaced with emphasis on John Paul Jones' bass talents and Jimmy Page's guitar control sounding a bit more concise. The track was used in the 2001 skarteboarding documentary, Dogtown and Z-Boys.
Due for release on July 31, the deluxe edition of Presence, 1979's In Through the Out Door and the band's last studio album Coda, will wrap up the Led Zeppelin reissue campaign. Reference mixes of "Achilles Last Stand," "For Your Life" and "Royal Orleans," as well as an unreleased and peculiarly titled "10 Ribs & All/ Carrot Pod Pod (Pod)," will also see the light reports UltimateClassicRock.
Jimmy Page personally oversaw and remastered each disc while delving into the band's endless archives and searching for companion audio. Each of the three LPs will be available across a range of formats from digital and single-disc CDs and vinyl, to an abundant and extravagant super-deluxe set that includes an over 70 page hardcover book and a print of the LPs cover along with CD, vinyl and deluxe editions, notes Rolling Stone.
The 1982 ninth studio album, Coda, closed the band's career after the death of drummer John Bonham. Its reissue stands apart from the rest, due to its two complete discs of companion audio containing recordings from 1968 to 1974 and the bonus track, "Sugar Mama."
