YG Reveals Title for New Album Following Shooting at Los Angeles Recording Studio

On the heels of a shooting incident at a Los Angeles recording studio, YG decided to open up about the situation and even revealed the title for his new album.

During a recent interview with Billboard, the "Who Do You Love" rapper disclosed that he was working on his sophomore release, Still Krazy, when the shooting occurred. Despite being shot in his hip, YG told the publication that he's been adamant about recording.

"I left the hospital that night, and the next day I went back to the studio," he said. "Nobody wanted me to go. My mama tells me, 'What are you talking about "going to the studio?"' But you know, I got sh*t to do — this sh*t don't stop for nobody. I came straight to the studio on my little crutches."

When asked about his debut album, My Krazy Life, and the way it was received by the general public, YG assured that forthcoming release shows progression in his craft.

"People were just unfamiliar with my first album and they didn't really think I was going to make it as far as I did," the rapper explained. "But I think my sound has grown since. When I drop this new album you aren't going to feel like I went too left trying to switch it up. It's still a good follow-up album talking about real situations in my life."

Aside from working on his album, YG is gearing up to perform at Toronto's Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on Aug. 2 as a part of J. Cole's Forest Hills Drive tour and Drake's OVO Fest. Big Sean, Jeremih, Bas, Cozz and Omen are also slated to hit the stage.
