Producer, DJ and social media comedian Dillon Francis has officially unveiled the details for his much-discussed EP that has been in the works for most of the year. The 7-track EP humorously titled This Mixtape Is Fire after all of the fire mixtape memes around the web features some of the biggest names in electronic music and coincidentally those who are also high up in Francis' Rolodex. Skrillex, Calvin Harris and Chromeo are among the DJs featured on the EP.
There are six brand new original songs on the EP including the aforementioned collaborations with Calvin, Skrillex and Chromeo, as well as two others with Bro Safari and another with James Hersey. It also has a remix of "I Can't Take It" from Party Favor.
Interestingly enough, Francis' track with Kygo that was originally slated to be on the EP has been added to the project. The Norwegian tropical house producer gave out copies of the track on USBs during his set at Coachella this in April, apparently without the permission of the Los Angeles-based producer. Kygo has been removed from the title of "Coming Over," their collaboration together, which could indicate a reworking of the song.
This Mixtape is Fire will be released on August 14. It is available for pre-order now on iTunes. To promote the EP, Francis has released the first track from the project "Bruk Bruk (I Need Your Lovin)," which sees him return to moombahton. Pre-orders of the EP on iTunes will receive the track as an instant download for pre-ordering the EP. You can listen to "Bruk Bruk (I need Your Lovin)" below.
