Did Malia Obama Snag an Internship with Lena Dunham's HBO Show 'Girls'?

Malia Obama is spending her summer with the Girls. President Obama's oldest daughter has reportedly landed herself a summer internship working on set of HBO's hit series, Girls and executive producer, Lena Dunham is her boss. Pretty sweet gig for the First Daughter!

TMZ snapped a photo of Malia Obama in Brooklyn yesterday, hanging with the lighting crew. She has reportedly joined the team as a summer intern and is working directly with Dunham and the rest of the cast. This is not Malia's first time interning for a television production. Last summer, she interned as a production assistant on the set of Halle Berry's CBS show, Extant, in Hollywood. It looks like Malia definitely has a thing for the show biz — and being the daughter of the POTUS can definitely be a resume boost.

The First Lady first reported of Malia's Hollywood interests back in 2012, when she expressed in an interview with People, "Malia has expressed some interest in filmmaking. Just like her father, she is an avid reader, and she enjoys movies. But she's a freshman, so she also knows she has years in college to explore her interest ... I want them to be as open to possibilities as possible."

It looks like Malia is definitely exploring as many filmmaking possibilities as she can. She picked a good time to intern for the hit HBO series because according to Lena Dunham, Girls is nearing its end. She expressed her desire to wrap up the show in just six seasons. The fifth season of Girls is what is being filmed currently and it is set to premiere in early 2016.

Tomorrow, as Americans everywhere celebrate Independence Day, Malia Obama will be also be celebrating her 17th birthday. Wonder what the First Family has in store for her birthday celebration!
