Just months after the release of The Album About Nothing, Wale recently revealed his plans to release a new go-go project featuring the likes of Tinashe and Chris Brown.
The MMG rapper reportedly broke the news during a press conference at this year's star studded Essence Festival. As noted by HotNewHipHop, go-go is a popular music sub-genre associated with funk that originated in the Washington, D.C. area. Along with Breezy and the "All Hands on Deck" pop singer, Wale hopes to work with prominent go-go musicians from the D.C. area as well.
The project is slated to drop after MMG's highly anticipated Self Made Vol. 4 compilation, which the "Ride Out" lyricist will be executive producing.
Last month, Wale kicked off his latest venture with TBS, showcasing his appreciation for Seinfeld by hosting the remix show this summer. On weeknights at 6 p.m. EST, the rapper appears on a special edition clip show where he shares some of his favorite episodes.
As fans may recall, Wale has been paying homage to the sitcom since the beginning of his career and most recently on TAAN. For TAAN, Wale worked closely with Jerry Seinfeld and even hosted the album listening party at Tom's Restaurant in Morningside Heights, the set of Monk's Café from the show.
TAAN debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 when it was released back in April, moving 100,000 copies. It marked Wale's second straight No. 1 project, following 2013′s The Gifted.
