Capo, a member of Chief Keef's Glo Gang, has reportedly been shot and killed in Chicago. Initial reports did not confirm that the emcee was the deceased, however continued social media activity seems to confirm the fact.
Capo was shot in the back and the hip as part of a drive-by shooting on Saturday afternoon, according to The Chicago Tribune. He was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. He was 22 years-old.
No motive has been given for the attack, as of publication. Two suspects were arrested, but unfortunately their destructive run didn't end with Capo: While fleeing the police, the suspects ran their car into a stroller, killing the one year-old child within.
Video of the aftermath is circulating on social media, however Music Times has opted not to publish it here due to its unfortunate and sensitive subject matter. It displays Capo, bleeding on the ground, as his friends encourage him to stay conscious and attempt to summon help.
A number of rappers—including Meek Mill and Lil Durk—took to social media to pay tribute to the fallen emcee.
The two deaths, presumably to be charged as homicides, continue Chicago's unfortunate violence issues. Eleven individuals were killed by gunfire or other violence over the July 4th weekend, and another 40 were wounded by gunfire during the same span. As of last weekend, the city had seen 228 homicides during 2015 thus far.
