Pharrell Williams' crazy Grammy hat goes to eBay auction for charity

Were you as big of a fan as Pharrell William's ridonkulous Grammys hat as the rest of us? Now, for the price of a nice used car, the Mountie-inspired chapeau can be yours. Yes, @PharrellHat has been sent to auction on eBay.

According to Billboard, Pharrell has teamed up with eBay to sell of some of his more daring and notable hats for his educational charity From One Hand To Another, which helps give children the tools they need in the classroom to excel in science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics and motivation (STEAMM). The goal of the organization is to build educationally focused community centers in poor neighborhoods.

So, to help fund this endeavor, Pharrell is selling his Vivienne Westwood Buffalo hat, alongside a few other less ostentatious toppers.

"I'm giving up the Buffalo Hat I wore to the GRAMMYs to help underserved kids get the educational tools they need," Pharrell said. "Our organization, From One Hand to Another, is committed to bringing kids experiences that ignite their passions, challenge their minds and prepare them for success."

The hat went on sale last night (Feb. 20) at 8 p.m. for a starting price of $200. As of press time, the garment has now skyrocketed to $10,500 with 64 bids, but the auction is far from over. It doesn't close until March 2.

For those who have managed to forget, the tall tan hat made massive waves at the Grammys red carpet last month from the second Pharrell stepped in front of the cameras, with fans on Twitter likening the item to the Arby's sign or a Canadian Mountie. It's even spawned several parody Twitter accounts, including @PharrellHat.
