It pays to be Dave Grohl's orthopedic surgeon - because you'll get your own rock star moment. This weekend (July 19), the Foo Fighters took on Boston's Fenway Park with a little help from the frontman's doctor, who took vocal duties for a cover of The White Stripes' stadium anthem "Seven Nation Army."
To close out the Sonic Highways Tour show, Grohl brought out his doctor Lew Schon to perform the classic White Stripes single. With the Foos accompanying him with boastful power chords and soaring guitars, Schon embraced his moment on stage, holding his arms up while singing the classic Jack White-penned tune.
His vocals left a little to be desired, but when he got Grohl back into performing shape so quickly after tumbling on stage at a concert in Sweden, he deserves a little moment of rock 'n' roll glory. And Grohl couldn't have been more stoked after the guest appearance. The crowd played into Schon's performance, shouting out "Lew!" at the request of Grohl and singing along with "Seven Nation Army" and its famous riff.
"Holy sh*t! That's actually my doctor," Grohl told the crowd. "What a badass!" Later, Grohl joked that "there are other Foo Fighters, but I don't even care about them right now."
