Taylor Swift: controversial photography contracts
Taylor Swift: 1989 World Tour
Taylor Swift: Bad Blood
Swift was initially called out by photographer Jason Sheldon, who said that in the wake of her open letter to Apple Music about artists' rights to get paid that she was acting hypocritically in her treatment of the press. Notably, Swift and her camp reserved the right to delete photos directly from a photographer's camera, use the images for "non-commercial" manners and stated that images could only be used once.
According to Poynter.org, these restrictive measures have since been amended or deleted from the photography contract.
"After taking the time to hear our concerns regarding her world tour photography guidelines agreement, the news and professional associations and Taylor's team are very pleased to have been able to work together for a revised agreement that is fair to everyone involved," Mickey Osterreicher, general counsel for the National Press Photographers Association, said in a statement.
The measures that have been amended include that Swift's camp is no longer allowed to "forcibly" delete photos from a camera during the concert. Pictures are also allowed to be used more than once and Swift will now credit photographers in posts on her Instagram and other social media sites.
Swift will continue on her 1989 World Tour on Friday, July 24, in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
