Today fans can stream Dej Loaf's debut EP #AndSeeThatsTheThing, featuring appearances from Future and Big Sean. After making this year's XXL Freshmen cover, Detroit's leading lady gives fans her first major label project, a six-track EP on Columbia Records.
Dej came on scene last year with "Try Me," which reached No. 45 on the charts. She's since featured on songs with Kid Ink, The Game and Eminem. Though she hasn't had another "Try Me" yet, she's given us solid releases such as "We Be On It" and "Me U & Hennessy," which was remixed by Lil Wayne.
We've recently heard both of the EP's tracks with features — "Back Up," with Big Sean, and "Hey There," with Future. Both are contenders to be Dej's next big hit.
The first is a turnt-up club joint in which Dej takes shots at thirsty dudes trying to cramp her style. Big Sean does the same, but to the ladies, for something of a "IDWFU" part two.
Dej dropped "Hey There" yesterday (July 24), with a nice-looking feature from Future, the hottest in the game right now on the heels of DS2, expected to debut at No. 1. "Hey There" finds Dej and Future (who's steering clear of love for the foreseeable future) channeling a rare romance. Both artists sing raw emotion into their raps, seamlessly blending pop and trap, and they play a damn hot couple as they go back-and-forth. Look for this to climb the charts later this summer.
