Disclosure, Sam Smith Release 'Omen' Three Years After 'Latch' Took Over

Disclosure: Omen

"Omen" once again marries Smith's signature, powerful croon with the infectious house beats of Disclosure's Howard and Guy Lawrence. Written together with frequent collaborator Jimmy Napes, "Omen" has an infectious disco fever with Smith's throaty vocals cutting through the funk-filled synths courtesy of Disclosure.

"It was really exciting," Howard said. "We had three whole days to hang out with Sam and write, which are two of my favorite things to do."

"It's very traditional way of writing songs. We could do it at home. I'll sit in the corner making a rough beat and getting all the sounds I think we're going to use ready. Someone will think about a theme of a subject we want to talk about. It all comes together that way-and if it doesn't come together quickly, it usually never will," Guy added.

The product has the same texture and catchiness as "Latch," especially in the chorus as Smith kicks in with some falsetto.

The music video is the second in a multiple-part series from Disclosure's forthcoming album Caracal. Taking place in Mexico City in a near dystopian future, Smith hangs out and sings at an underground dance club. Though everything seems more or less OK, there's an element of danger in the air, which comes to a head at the end of the music video when shots ring out and the screen cuts to black.

"Omen" is the second single from Disclosure's new album Caracal, which is due for release on Sept. 25.
