Ultra Music Festival continues its outward expansion with a new announcement that it will host a new one-day this fall in Puerto Rico. This will be the first festival for the global electronic music festival brand in the Caribbean. The move to Puerto Rico will take place on October 2 later this year and will be a part of the larger string of "Road To Ultra" shows that take place all over the world.
UMF has been in expansionary mode in 2015, announcing new festivals all over South America and Asia. In the past few months, Ultra has announced events in the Philippines and Singapore in Asia and Bolivia and Peru in South America. They will join other festivals in Bali, Macau, Paraguay, Ibiza, Chile, South America, Ibiza and elsewhere.
It is a bold strategy to announce a festival two months before it is set to happen, but with only one day to program and to sell tickets for, there is much less risk. It will also pack all of the marketing into two short months.
Tickets will go sale soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that information. Lineup should also be released shortly to help drive ticket sales and since the festival is only a little more than two months away. The festival will take place on Oct. 2 in the San Juan Convention District.
The road to Ultra is becoming much more crowded with a litany of different festival in Asia and South America, but before it gets to Miami in March, UMF will have to make a stop in Caribbean. Head to Ultra Puerto Rico's website for more information and stay tuned for ticket info and the lineup.
