Drake Reunites With 'Degrassi' Cast Mates at Toronto Web Series Premiere

What once began as a small acting career on the Canadian TV show Degrassi blew up into a renowned career in the rap industry for Aubrey Graham who's now known as Drake. The rapper reunited with his former cast mates from Degrassi: The Next Generation last night, August 5, at a Toronto web series premiere.

Drake kicked off his career as character Jimmy Brooks, who was famously known for being confined to a wheelchair, in the teen series. After being shot by a classmate, Drake's character became physically disabled. According to Us Weekly, he acted in a total of 145 episode from 2001 to 2009 portraying Jimmy until the show producers canned the entire cast and brought in new characters and actors.

The rapper hasn't been photographed with his Degrassi costars since they parted ways and he launched a career in hip hop. A premiere for new web series, We Are Disorderly, sparked the gathering of stars where Drake was reunited with old colleagues and posed for pictures alongside fan-favorites Daniel Clark, Adamo Ruggiero and Lauren Collins who acted as Sean Cameron, Marco Del Rossi and Paige Michalchuk, respectively. We Are Disorderly is the collective work of fellow Degrassi stars Al Mukadam and Mazin Elsadig, NME notes.

It seems Drake was able to enjoy a night in Toronto away from the current beef between him and fellow rapper, Meek Mill. The two began a heated dispute when Mill accused Drake of having a ghostwriter for his songs, conjuring two diss tracks "Charged Up" and "Back to Back." After a week of keeping a low profile, Meek Mill responded with his own track, "Wanna Know."
