Peter Bjorn and John Share New Tracks During 'World Cafe' Session

Swedish indie pop outfit Peter Bjorn and John recently debuted two new tracks during a World Café Live recording session for NPR. Although the Stockholm natives have yet to unveil details for their follow up to 2011's Gimme Some, the group's latest in-studio efforts have revived listener interest. The first tracks to be shared since "High Up (Take Me To The Top)" debuted in April, Peter Bjorn and John's recent performance for World Café Live included "Do Si Do" and the captivating "Breaking Point." Details stating whether or not the new tracks are from a forthcoming project have yet to be revealed.

Famed for their critically acclaimed album, Writers Block, and credited by BWW for bringing "whistling back to pop music," Peter Bjorn and John are also known for crafting catchy hooks and swoon-inducing melodies. From "Young Folks" to tracks like "Needles and Pills," the trio is cited as a favorite by people from all walks of life. Peter Bjorn and John's songs have been adored by many, including some of the music industry's most influential performers. From Drake's version of "Let's Call It Off" to witch-hop MC Azealia Banks' rendition of "The Chills," the band has managed to remain influential despite the many years that span the gap between their last LP and their freshly debuted tracks.

The indie pop stars, although still withholding any hints about when they will return to the recording studio, did give their fans something to cling to via a press release that offers an adequate description of their latest track: "Do Si Do" is a sort of sequel to the Writers Block-classic "Paris 2004" in being a 'folkish' (this time Abba-esque disco-folk, but still) holiday travelogue track, picturing romance, either in a blissful present state (the former song) or in trouble (this time, situated in New York), facing hiccups or even a full on halt (the story never tells), when the past catches up on the pair and casts dark shadows."
