Rosie O'Donnell is desperately searching for her missing 17-year-old daughter, Chelsea O'Donnell. Chelsea has been missing since Aug. 11, and today (Aug. 18) the former The View host issued a public statement to her website asking for help to bring her daughter back safely.
According to O'Donnell's website, Chelsea was last seen wearing a black hoodie, dark blue ripped jeans, grey converse sneakers and a black backpack. Cheslea also has a large tattoo of a dream catcher on her right side with the word "Breathe" in it.
Nyack, New York, police have been on the look out for Chelsea since Aug. 16, searching in the Rockland County area. The comedian/actress stated her daughter suffers from an undisclosed mental illness and that the girl is in need of medical attention.
Chelsea reportedly stopped taking her medicine and left the home with her 6-month-old therapy dog, a brown and black terrier named Bear.
"Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness," said family spokeswoman Cindi Berger, according to CNN. "It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family, and they just want her back safe."
According to RadarOnline.com, Chelsea allegedly reached out to her biological mother Deanna Micoley on Aug. 8, three days before she was last seen. Chelsea apparently asked Micoley where she was living, because she wanted to visit her. Micoley currently resides in Wisconsin. Micoley reportedly has no information on her whereabouts but is afraid of who she may be with or where she might be.
"Rosie has said she wouldn't be surprised if she came looking for me," said Micoley. "She said that when I first talked to Rosie when Chelsea found me in November."
The police department enlisted extra help from law enforcement agencies in the area to help find O'Donnell's daughter, according to a statement to ABC friom South-Nyack-Grand View Police Department's Chief of Police, Brent P. Newbury.
