Fans tend to like bands on Facebook to get updates about new albums, music videos and to let people from high school know just how much cooler they've gotten since graduation. Fans do not like bands on Facebook to get spammy porn messages, but on Wednesday night (Aug. 19), those who like indie rockers Death Cab for Cutie on the social network site got just that.
Following a similar attack on Imogen Heap's Facebook page, the "Black Sun" band's page was hacked by an unknown source that posted a series of salacious article links, including "7 Best Sexual Positions of All Time" and "6 Best Sexual Positions You Didn't Know." The links not only contained the saucy headlines, but NSFW images, as well, including cartoons of people having sex and some very graphic screencaps from porn movies, as Gigwise reports.
The evening time hack was quickly caught by moderators on Death Cab for Cutie's Facebook fan page, but that doesn't mean that fans didn't have time to screencap the posts and poke a little fun at the hack.
DCfC's Facebook was hacked this evening and explicit content was posted to the page. The account is now secure and fans will not be subjected to these kind of posts in the future. Our sincere apologies.

Death Cab for Cutie was quickly rebranded as "Death Cab for Booty," and fans quickly turned the pornographic posts in to memes.
As for other fans, well, their anger could only be cured by concert tickets... which may or may not be a joke.
