In July, it was reported that a woman invited backstage at a 2 Chainz concert was suing the Atlanta rapper after an embarrassing encounter went viral. Christine Chisholm, who is seeking $5 million from Chainz, recently spoke out and revealed that she plans to represent herself in court.
Chisholm spoke exclusively with Charlotte, North Carolina news station WBTV and shared the news. She also recalled being in "shock" after finding out the video had been released on the Internet.
"Crazy," Chisholm said when asked what her life's been like following the release of the video. "I can't go out in public...Before the video had even started I was in the back room and we were just eating chicken wings. Actually, until the end, I really didn't even know if they were recording. And I didn't know that he was gonna post it on the blogs. I was just in shock."
The nearly three and a half minute video features 2 Chainz poking fun at Chisholm and eventually asking her to leave. He also referred to Chisholm as a "THOT," an acronym for "that ho over there." Reports indicate that the video, shared online as #IsThisYoThot, was recorded after Chainz and one of his frequent collaborators, Cap-1, realized that Chisholm wasn't who they thought.
In her lawsuit, Chisholm notes that the video received 80 million views and thousands of comments. She also claims that the video cost her her job.
Chisholm has chosen not to receive the assistance of any lawyers and she is certain there is nothing stopping her from winning her case.
"I feel like if I'm just honest with everything that really happened then there's no reason why I wouldn't win," she said. "If I could see 2 Chainz, I would just be like, 'Where's my money?'"
Chainz and his legal team have responded saying that Chisholm does not have a case and that being called a "ho" is not a fact that can actually harm your reputation. He also rapped about the lawsuit on "Watch Out" from his recently released Trap-A-Velli Tre mixtape.
"Shorty say she want five million / 'Cause I told her to leave and called her a thot / Sh*t, you can like it or not, I'm coming straight out the pot," he raps.
