The world had better watch out, because the reign of Sheezus is nigh. After dropping new music videos and singles steadily since November, Today (March 10), British pop singer Lily Allen has revealed the release date, tracklisting and cover art for her third studio album. And if that's not enough, Allen also dropped a new single and music video.
After five years out of the music industry and spotlight, Allen will be releasing Sheezus on May 5, according to Consequence Of Sound. The new album release date marks nearly six months after she released the album's lead single, the female empowerment anthem "Hard Out Here" and nearly five years, three months to the day that her last effort It's Not Me, It's You hit stores.
But of course, an album release date announcement would be nothing without some badass record artwork, which Allen also debuted today. The Sheezus cover features three perfectly plump corgis, with a black and blonde-haired Allen sitting amongst them on the stairs in front of an opulent mansion. (See the album cover above.)
It's excessive in all the right ways and somehow hilarious... probably the pooches' fault.
Next on the Allen news train is the album's third official music video for "Our Time." This marks the fourth song (of 11) that have been released leading up to Sheezus' release. "Our Time" is a softly sung, happy little partying anthem.
The music video features multiple and multi-hair colored Allens dancing in the back of a London cab, smoking cigarettes and drinking from a flask on their way to a party. It's a fittingly happy little music video and shows a lighter side of Allen and Sheezus.
