"Pure Grinding" follows a miner dealing with alcoholism and serious money issues and a young man with an addiction to violence and money who both fall victim to their vices in a brutal world.
"For a Better Day" takes on child slavery and sex trafficking, but with a slightly hopeful and revengeful tone. It follows a young man and a woman who were once trafficked are on a spree branding and killing the men responsible for their capture and presumably violent youth. It is a powerful video that addresses one of the more important human rights disasters today.
Speaking about the "For A Better Day" video, Avicii said via DJ Mag, "The promise of a better life often traps families and children into being used as tools for some of the most despicable people on earth."
"It's an issue about which I hope to start a louder discussion, especially now with the huge number of families on the move from war torn countries looking for safety and shelter," he said.
The strain of directing these two videos has been attributed to Avicii's recent announcement that he is postponing all of his upcoming tour dates in 2015 to next year.
The two singles are from Avicii's upcoming album Stories. The LP will be released on Oct. 2 through PRMD and Island Records. It features the likes of Martin Garrix, Zac Brown Band, Alex Ebert and more.
