In addition to being one of music's most prolific songwriters and performers, Pharrell Williams is quite the fashionable guy. Insane Vivienne Westwood hat aside, he knows how to make a statement. Soon, Pharrell will be diving even further into the world of fashion by releasing his own fragrance.
Pharrell will be teaming up with Japanese fashion label Comme des Garçons and to release a eau de parfum called "Girl" later this year, according to Billboard. Though seemingly named after just one of the two sexes, the fragrance actually just holds the same moniker as the singer's new album and will be usable by both boys and girls.
This will be the first partnership between Comme des Garçons and a musician.
"As one of my favorite designers once said, 'Comme des Garçons is your favorite designers' favorite designer...the top of the top, the best of the best,'" Pharrell said. "I am so honored to be working with Comme des Garçons and cherish the education that I've experienced in this collaboration."
More information on "Girl," including scent details and an exact release date, is expected to arrive in the coming months. The fragrance is set to drop in September.
The fragrance announcement comes during one of the biggest weeks of Pharrell's career. His peppy Despicable Me 2 track "Happy" is spending a third week on top of the Hot 100 after selling over 490,000 digital copies, and his new album G I R L arrived at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It's a good time (as usual) to be Pharrell.
