7 Things We Learned About Victor Cruz and Fashion From 'The Coveteur'

New York Giants wide receiver, Victor Cruz, and his fiancé, Elaina Watley, were delivered The Coveteur treatment as the style company invaded his New York home to check out their larger than life closets and find out how much of a part fashion plays in their lives. Cruz and Watley introduced them to a world of exclusive collectible sneakers, high-priced jewelry and high heels to die for, all while revealing little personal quirks about his must-haves in life, ambitions and love for fashion. In between the expected fashion quotes, we learned 7 things about them that weren't expected.

If you're unfamiliar with The Coveteur and you have a keen eye for style, then this website would basically supply all of your fashion porn needs. Tapping into the more taboo circuits of fashion (i.e. homes, closets, backstage shows, archives, etc.), The Coveteur gets an inside scoop of what fans usually don't see in the magazines and on TV. While they've seen a plethora of closets, this is one they'll never forget, deeming it, "THE. BIGGEST. CLOSET. WE'VE EVER SEEN."

This is no surprise, because the 28-year-old NFL star is known as one of the most fashionable athletes in sports today. Pointing to his dad as the one who first made him really think about fashion, Cruz began to take his interest in fashion seriously in his late teens. Fiancé Watley says her man really began to soak up the talent of big designers when he was awarded the opportunity of cutting a ribbon during Fashion Week. His closet contains everything from Air Jordans to Louis Vuitton suitcases. Talking about fashion has become one of his favorite topics, so check out what The Coveteur discovered about his preferences, style, and family below.

Here are seven fun things we learned about the NFL athlete:

1. Acting is a major dream of his and he wants to fulfill it, sooner than later. In the next 10 years, Cruz hopes to be retired and have his foot in the door in Hollywood. Acting isn't something he's only looking forward to in the future, if opportunities come his way during his football career, he would love to give them a try. The New Jersey native got his first taste of fame acting in The Rock's new HBO series, Ballers.

"Hopefully in 10 years I'll be doing some sort of form of acting, movies, on the green screen or something crazy like that," said Cruz to The Coveteur. "I would love an action movie or even a romantic comedy or drama."

2. His most prized possession is a wallet his late father passed down to him. Cruz's father died eight years ago, so he keeps the wallet around him as a personal reminder of him.

"I always keep it in my drawer of my dressing room, just to have it, just to look at it as a remembrance of him. It's definitely my most sentimental piece."

3. He can't live without his chapstick and calling his mom at least once a day. He also sites his wallet, car keys, and a chain with his daughter Kennedy's name on it as other items he can't go without. He wears the chain everyday as a good luck charm.

4. He wears women's deodorant.

"Other than soap, I don't really use anything. I use women's deodorant because I have sensitive armpits. Then I just use just an astringent on my face and a moisturizer. I have my favorite cologne, Le Labo Santal 33, it's my favorite scent."

5. He eats extremely healthy. That means counting his calorie and carb intake, as well as, getting the proper amount of nutrients and protein.

"I try to stay on a strict regimen, but it's not that hard. I don't eat a lot of candies, I don't eat a lot of sweets, I don't eat a lot of junk food. I just drink water 100 times a day as part of my life. That's about it, I try to stay focused on it."

6. His favorite thing about playing in New York is the people.

"Whenever you're losing they show it and they voice their opinions, but I love that, I love that honesty, I love that realness that you get in the New York/New Jersey area. It's just something that you can't beat anywhere else."

7. He has very expensive taste.

"[Some of my favorite designers are] Givenchy, Thom Browne, Kich, John Elliott, Stance, Rag & Bone, Michael Bastian, Calvin Klein, Todd Snyder, Neil Barrett, Ovadia and Sons, 3x1, I could go on for days."
