Lily Allen isn't nakes like Miley Cyrus of playing with bondage gear like Britney Spears in her new music video for "Our Time," but that doesn't mean MTV has to like it. According to an e-mail the pop star posted on her Twitter, the music-centric(ish) network wants her to censor her new clip, lest it be aired only after 7 p.m.
In a email that Allen posted to her official Twitter account (via NME), it seems as though MTV has a problem with drinking and fighting, even though that's, like, the entire point of half the channel's TV programs.
"MTV want to ban the 'Our Time' video during the daytime, unless they get a clean edit that show you a) NOT DRINKING FROM A FLASK and b) NOT DISPLAYING ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR FROM DRINKING BY FIGHTING WITH THE HOT DOG," the email reads. "I told the label we are NOT making a clean version of the video. Bring on the controversy!"
Allen then went on to throw further shade at the network, tweeting, "I thought MTV just played Catfish and My Super Sweet 16" and calling the move a sign of the "age of beige." Not like she's wrong...
To us at MusicTimes, it seems like Allen just made a goofy video about getting plastered, but judge for yourself by watching the video below.
"Our Time" is the third official single (and music video) for Allen's upcoming third studio album Sheezus. Which is due out in stores on May 5.
