After delaying its release back in July, Young Thug finally decided to drop his Slime Season mixtape featuring Lil Wayne.
Fans can finally hear Slime Season in its entirety after Thug tweeted about its delay. The tape, which was initially said to be a full-length collaboration with producer London On Da Track, also includes production from Metro Boomin and Southside. Slime Season was originally slated to drop the same day as Lil Wayne's Free Weezy Album.
Ironically, the tape opens with the previously released Weezy collab, "Take Kare." The song first made its way to the Internet last October. Since then, the two have shared an awkward public exchange. This summer, reports began to surface that Thug and Birdman conspired to kill Lil Wayne in a Bloods-related tour bus shooting.
Thug's last mixtape was slated to be named Carter 6, a play on the title of Wayne's as-yet-released Tha Carter V album, but following objections from the former Cash Money rapper, Thug opted for Barter 6.
Elsewhere, Slime Season features guest spots from Quavo, Offset and PeeWee Longway.
Thug's debut, Hy!£UN35, is set to arrive this month via Lyor Cohen's 300 Ent. "It's launching on, I think, Sept. 24," he said. "But I don't know. I might take it back because I've got a couple new songs I may want to play for the label. All the songs are perfect, so..."
Young Thug will commemorate his highly anticipated debut LP with a 34-date tour and Tory Lanez will serve as opener on a number of the dates. The Paramount in Huntington, New York will host the tour's first show, with stops also being made in Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles and Houston.
Back in June, Lanez released his Cruel Intentions mixtape.
