Diplo Mixes Old School Hip-Hip, House In Burning Man 2015 Set

Diplo has released his set from the Iguana car at the 2015 edition of Burning Man. The superstar DJ, producer is not one who you would normally associate with the outsider and non-mainstream ethos of the gathering, but he has been a regular there and this past year he spun a 70 plus mix of old school hip-hop and house tracks while riding around The Playa.

Diplo includes tunes from the likes of The Rolling Stones, Snoop Dogg, A Tribe Called Quest, The Fugees and so many more. The audio was recorded on a phone, so it is like someone was facetiming you while you sat in a place with a lot less dust and more water.

Depite the sound quality, the set is well-done from start to finish, but there is one real MVP. The shouting dude who must have been either holding the recording device or right next to it is the real star of the show here. Probably (who are we kidding definitely) off of his rocker, he screams out things like "you're just going to be lit always aahhhhhhh" and "I am literally terrified, I have no idea what remix he is going to drop right now" and "Yoooooooooooo! Wes is a real person." You came for the music and stayed for the screaming guy.

The reaction to Diplo at Burning Man has been generally positive compared to last year when there was some backlash towards what he and Skrillex played during a set there. They were lampooned by regulars for playing a "mainstream" set, but Diplo came back and hit 'em with the classics. Now you can listen to it in low quality below with the homie MCing the whole event.
