Mick Jagger has opened up about the death of his longtime girlfriend, fashion designer L'Wren Scott.
Yesterday (March 18), Scott was found dead in her New York City apartment of an apparent hanging suicide just one month shy of her 50th birthday. Scott is noteworthy not just for her fashion designs but also for her long term relationship with Jagger. Just one day after her death, the heartbroken Rolling Stones frontman released a statement on his official Facebook page.
"I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way," Jagger wrote, also noting that she was his best friend and a talent "much admired, not least by me."
Jagger also thanked his fans and Scott's friends for the support during this surely difficult time.

The two have been together for 13 years.
Following the news of Scott's death, the Rolling Stones cancelled its upcoming tour of Australia, according to People.
