The Rolling Stones go deep in Tokyo, playing 'Silver Train'

Make as many "you're old" jokes as you want about the Rolling Stones, but forgetfulness hasn't become a problem yet. The band dug deep into its catalogue in Tokyo on Tuesday, pulling out the track "Silver Train," a song that hadn't been performed live for more than 40 years.

The setlist shakeup was the result of the Stones' long-running tradition of a "fan vote," in which concertgoers vote via Facebook what track they want to hear at the next concert. "Silver Train" barely edged out the more popular single "You Got Me Rockin'," which also got played during Tuesday's show.

"Silver Train" is a back track from the Stones album Goats Head Soup, which was also used as a B-side for the single "Angie." The track was play four times during the Stones 1973 tour, but gathered a somewhat cult appreciation. Rocker Johnny Winter heard the song from the band before the album came out, and released a version on his own album Still Alive and Well, which came out before the Stones' release. The Black Crowes have also covered the song in concert.

The song, like most tracks from the Stones that your mom thought was safe for work, is about the narrator's relationship with a prostitute.

Tuesday's show was the last of three at the Tokyo Dome, and the band has moved onto Macau as part of its 14-date "On Fire" tour in Asia.
