Justin Bieber egging vandalism charges dropped to misdemeanor, case likely to settle next week

It seems like Justin Bieber probably won't end up a felon, after all. A plea deal is being sought out after the "Confident" singer egged his neighbor's house in Casablancas, Calif., causing tens of thousands of dollars in damages.

According to TMZ, Bieber's lawyer met with the L.A. County District Attorney so Bieber could pay restitution for the vandalism without having to undergo serious jail time or become a felon.

So, what will he do? TMZ states that he will have to pay for the damages to the house, which the neighbor estimates to be around $20,000, plead no contest to a misdemeanor vandalism charge and then be put on an informal probation. This means the 20-year-old will avoid going to the slammer.

Bumping Bieber's charges down from a felony to a misdemeanor is reportedly a contentious move, as the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. want him charged with the more serious crime due to the extensive damages on the house and the fact that the attack was planned, deliberate and malicious in nature.

But, it seems like they won't nail him this time. If Bieber agrees to these terms, the whole egging incident could be cleared up as early as next week.

The egg-tossing vandalism may have seemed like a silly incident to most, but Bieber's ritzy neighborhood made the vandalism have soaring costs. The police thought the incident was enough to raid Bieber's home in January for evidence connected to the crime.

This is just one of several legal woes the Biebz is experiencing this year. He's also set for a May court date in connection to his Miami Beach DUI from January 23, where he was high on marijuana and Xanax while drag racing a Lamborghini.
