Fall is really the time to get lost in the introspective Latin folk of Jose Gonzalez and thankfully, he's reminding us of that with a very strange new music video for "Let It Carry You" off of Vestiges & Claws.
The video premiered on Nerdist Tuesday and features an odd stencil sketched elephant, a potato creature of sorts. Our odd protagonist sips from a coffee mug while staring out the window at a world flying by without him, when he decides to go for a walk whistling and singing to the tune. Our walking potato elephant then turns into a flying potato elephant, effectively being carried away, as the song might imply.
His percussive guitar and the strangely beautiful drawings in the video make for one trippy experience, which is just what the doctor ordered as we enter the first days of this gloomy fall season. Watch the video below.
Vestiges & Claws is filled with similar tunes rooted in Latin rhythms and accentuated by the gorgeous vocals of Gonzalez. While the album was released back in February, there's still plenty of time to catch up, sit back, sip on a pumpkin spice latte and soak in the encapsulating guitar work.
