Frank Ocean/Chipotle lawsuit settled, singer never sent check reading 'F**K OFF'

Word on the street is Frank Ocean has settled his lawsuit with Chipotle but it didn't go down the way the Odd Future crooner made it seem.

According to TMZ, Ocean paid up but the check they received didn't include the expletive in the memo line.

As previously reported, Chipotle filed for a lawsuit after Ocean allegedly reneged on a contract for a song for an ad campaign.

In the suit, Chipotle claimed Ocean was enlisted for his vocals on an advertisement against industrial farming. Ocean was to record a cover of Willy Wonka's "Pure Imagination." The recording was to be used to accompany an animated video by the food chain.

The eatery says they shared an unfinished video of the animation with the singer and paid him $212,500, which was the first half of his agreed compensation, in July 2013.

Chipotle says Ocean then backed out of the deal on his deadline in August.

And what was Ocean's response? (in case you missed it)

Being the gentleman he is, he responded with a kind gesture and a check, which he shared on his Tumblr page.

Ocean shared a photo of a cashier's check he wrote out to Chipotle. The check was made out for the balance asked for in the suit but he, not really as we know now, added a little twist.

In the memo box, he wrote, "F**K OFF."

A rep for the Mexican chain restaurant had this to say: "Nice stunt, Frank!"
