Chris Brown: Britney Spears
Chris Brown: Jennifer Lopez
Chris Brown: Celine Dion
A representative for the R&B singer expressed that "the details being reported are incorrect. Correct details will be revealed soon," which leaves the specific facts unclear to fans. But Drai's Beachclub and Nightclub's website does confirm that his first show is early next month (Oct. 3) at their venue.
Billboard reported that the residency news comes on the heels of finishing his One Hell of a Nite Tour, which ran through the summer and spanned 25 United States cities, beginning in early August (Aug. 12) at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri and finished mid this month (Sept. 19) in California. The backing acts on his tour included Kid Ink, Omarion, Fetty Wrap and Teyana Taylor.
Las Vegas is traditionally a high-paying city for name artists and Spears, Lopez, Richie and Dion all have current residencies there, in addition to many DJs. According to TMZ, Brown has reportedly signed a contract to perform up to six shows for $50,000 paid for each performance. Drai's has also reportedly been thrilled with his performances is the past and may be willing to offer him a long-running deal.
This good news for Brown follows the possible denial of his Australian visa on character grounds, which it can only be suspected has to do with his guilty plea for assaulting then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. While this has not been officially confirmed, on Sunday (Sept. 27) the singer was issued an extremely stern warning that he is likely be denied a visa, as previously reported by Music Times.
