Four Tet: Opus
The London-based electronic producer is smart to keep the original melody and epic buildup that Eric Prydz originally crafted in his 9-minute original. Four Tet, known for his lengthy epics, stretches out that build even more, slowing down the progression of the hypnotic chords just a tad and adds his own intro and outro that makes this more club friendly. Four Tet also adds some spacey pads over the breakdown that eventually comes in at five minutes.
If you are looking for a big drop, this is not the track for you.
Official remixes for Eric Prydz singles are rare and come only to producers that the Swedish DJ really admires. The last to be released was the stunning rework of "Generate" by Kölsch.
The remix comes after Eric Prydz just dropped the mother lode of new music in the past three months. He shared three different EPs as part of the Pryda 10 project. The first EP featured four tracks, including some of his more recent IDs that had a harder, techno twist to them.
The second EP contains six tracks and had a lot of the classic, more subdued tunes from the treasure trove of unreleased Pryda tracks, while the third has a whopping 12 tracks, which spanned his entire career.
Four Tet has been active recently, releasing his new album Morning/Evening in June.
