Rick Ross Speaks On Album, Meek Mill-Drake Beef & 50 Cent's Bankruptcy

Rick Ross just announced a new album, Black Market, after releasing its first single, "Sorry," featuring Chris Brown. When Ross stopped by Power 105.1 to sit down with The Breakfast Club, and then later Angie Martinez, the main focus was on his involvement in two different rap beefs: one involving his MMG signee Meek Mill and former collaborator Drake, and one involving himself and 50 Cent.

When asked about whether Mill could recover from the widely perceived "L" he took in this summer's battle against Drake, Ross responded by saying that it was once thought, circa 2009, that he was down and out in a feud with 50 Cent, who he's now (kind of) beefing with again. "I was perceived once to be losing to an artist or in a battle. I tripled my worth [in] less than 12 months," said Ross.

Ross' rival, 50 Cent, declared bankruptcy a few months ago after losing a $7 million lawsuit to Lastonia Levinson, who has a child with Ross, for uploading a sex tape of hers to the Internet without permission in 2009. Last December, 50 was ordered to pay more than $17 million to Sleek Audio for stealing headphone designs for his own company, SMS Audio.

While talking about the timeline of his beef with 50, Ross asked Martinez, "How you felt when he filed bankruptcy?," to which she replied that she thought 50 probably did so to escape one of his current debts.

"You think Jay Z would have filed bankruptcy?" Ross quickly interrupted. "Think Puff Daddy would file bankruptcy [to not pay someone]?"

"I'm not gonna speak on another man's pockets. That's not my job. But everything another man works for, and the only thing, as a man, you got is your name: Get Rich or Die Tryin'," said Ross in reference to 50's popular slogan and the title of his breakout album as well as his 2005 biopic, "And now you bankrupt."

"You can come back tomorrow and explain it and say, 'I'm doing this, I'm doing that' -- stop. Stop. There's holes in your roof, fam."

The interview ends with Ross speaking on Meek Mill's upcoming mixtape, Dreamchasers 4, which he thinks will switch the public perception that's been surrounding Mill since his beef with Drake.

Rick Ross' full interview with Angie Martinez will be released soon.
