Refuge Road Productions, Inc. is a Georgia-based 501c3 that was formed "for the purpose and mission to produce and finance Faith-Based and inspirational motion pictures." Last night, in Duluth, Georgia, they held their first annual benefit event to introduce the brand and their first motion picture, Six Strings.
Six Strings tells the story of Jim Turner, a man who has it all ... fame through a career in music, a loving wife and a beautiful daughter. But when tragedy strikes, Jim can't cope. His choices lead him to prison where he stands to lose the only things he has left.
Starring Scout Powell (the daughter of Third Day's lead singer, Mac Powell) as Sam, Jim's daughter in her first major acting role, fans will also see Mac playing a small part in the film. Mac is also in charge of the soundtrack for the movie.
At the benefit, both of the Powell's were on hand. Much to the delight of party-goers, Mac played an acoustic set that showed off his talent outside of Third Day and Scout showed that she definitely inherited some of her dad's musical talents. Good company met good entertainment and good eats (the hor dourves were amazing!) for a night of family fun and fellowship for a great cause! What a great way to spend a Tuesday night.
