Later this month, the MTV EMAs will hand out its awards for the acts who have had the most success in Europe. The award show is being hosted by Ed Sheeran and Ruby Rose and to keep viewers engaged it will have performers by some of the top names in music today. Already on the bill are Jason Derulo, Twenty One Pilots and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and now MTV has helped to fill out the lineup with fast rising acts in Tori Kelly, James Bay and Jess Glynne. All three are nominated in the Best New Act cetegory alongside Shawn Mendes and Echosmith.
Other performers set to take the stage at Milan's Mediolanum Forum on Oct. 25 include Ellie Goulding, host Ed Sheeran, Pharrell and Rudimental, who will collaborate with Mr. Sheeran live. Also included in a separate announcement is the news that Martin Garrix and Afrojack will perform. Garrix has been tabbed as one of the presenters along with Ashley Benson, Fifth Harmony, Mark Ronson and Shay Mitchell.
Pharrell will open the show with a song yet to be named, but putting your money on "Freedom" wouldn't be a bad bet.
Entering its 22nd year, the MTV EMAs will celebrate the best in pop music with nominations coming to the usual suspects. Taylor Swift leads the pack with a record nine nods, while Kendrick Lamar and Justin Bieber all look to take home awards from their six nominations. Other multiple nominees include 5 Seconds of Summer, Wiz Khalifa, Ed Sheeran, Major Lazer and others. Though this is a European award show, the nominees are dominated by American acts.
The "cute and badass" show will take place at 9 p.m. local time on Oct. 25.
