Things got heated at Snoop Dogg's 44th birthday party this past Friday (Oct. 16) after an actual fire broke out in the club at Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim, California where the event was being held. His actual birthday is tomorrow (Oct. 20) but the party was being held a few days early. Dogg was not hurt but the fire caused his party to be delayed.
According to TMZ, a decorated Halloween chandelier exploded into flames shortly before Dogg was set to take the stage. The party was set up to be a hot event and the hundreds of guests quickly left the premises shortly after the fire broke out. The club's sprinklers also quickly flooded the floor and forced the party to be rescheduled at a different location.
However, this was only a minor setback considering the number of successful ventures that Dogg has entered into lately, including a reality show on BET with Birdman, Jermaine Dupri and Damon Dash. He also has signed up for a sports reality series with AOL and is launching an all things marijuana website entitled MerryJane.com.
As reported by Business Insider, the new as yet untitled BET show is set to begin production in Los Angeles in November and will be released late in 2016. The show will chronicle the lives of rappers Birdman and Dogg, Grammy-worthy producer Jermaine Dupri and mogul Damon Dash as they balance both professional ventures and their personal lives in the hip-hop world over eight episodes.
The show is set to be produced by Lemuel Plummer, who was behind Preachers of Atlanta and Preachers of L.A. Dogg had a similar show on E! Networks from 2007-2008 called Snoop Dogg's Father Hood. Fox Networks had also been working with Dogg on producing a feature called Coach Snoop, also in 2007, but the project was cancelled when Natural Resources Media & Technology Group filed a broadcast rights lawsuit against the venture that same year.
